3 s after the digit 3 ("3. No, and tell Codex what to do differently") on the approval dialog, with no Enter. The history above it shows an approved write and an Esc on a second dialog. The denial draws the same lines as the Esc: "✗ You canceled the request to run ...", "• Exited (status 1) ...", and "■ Conversation interrupted - use /feedback if something went wrong". The empty box and the footer "? for shortcuts" are back, and Codex asks for no text. Measured with the scenario scenarios/codex/deny.sh.
